Meet Olivia

About Me

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. Through my personal experiences, I have learned that each of us has an innate desire to be understood and seen. I became a therapist in order to help others access a deeper understanding of themselves and use this understanding to bring about profound and lasting change.

My goal in the therapeutic relationship is to support your growth as you work to overcome the struggles you are facing in your life and your relationships. I hope to join you on your journey of exploration and be a safe place where you are free to access and uncover all of yourself. Therapy is a deeply personal and vulnerable process. I bring my empathy, compassion and understanding to every session and hold space in a kind and nurturing manner. Through this approach, my clients are able to make positive change that impact multiple areas of their lives.

Professional Experience

I received my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Santa Clara University in 2020. Over the last few years I have worked with individuals, adolescents, and children with a wide range of presenting issues. I have received training and supervision surrounding a variety of mental health concerns, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, Traumatic Brain Injuries, and self-esteem and self-worth. I regularly attend continuing education classes to stay up to date on any and all new information in the counseling psychology field. I am fully certified in EMDR as well as trauma-informed therapy. I utilize a number of therapeutic techniques to best support my clients and my goal is to provide support in reaching an increase in life satisfaction.

Treatment Approach

I incorporate a number of therapeutic orientations into my work with clients. I find this is the best way to meet my clients where they are and support them in what they need regardless of what they are going through. I work to stay present in the moment, while also maintaining focus on your goals and desired outcomes. I work to make processing even the most difficult memories safe by staying connected to you and your experience while holding space with compassion and empathy.

  • Person-centered therapy emphasizes compassion and empathy for the clients experience. These are foundational to my practice as I strive to create a warm, compassionate and relational therapeutic alliance with all my clients.

  • A powerful therapy formed on the notion of working with a person’s whole being. In this work, we incorporate your past experiences and identify how they have impacted and formed your present difficulties. Through this approach, we work to find the root of the negative beliefs or dysfunction to ensure that you are able to embrace all aspects of your life to find fulfillment.

  • Brings an understanding of the ways in which trauma impacts all areas of one’s life. A way of conceptualizing the impact that distressing or traumatic events have on individuals. This lense allows you to make deeper connections between how past life events impact your current emotional experience.

  • Derived from Internal Family Systems therapy, parts work helps clients identify and connect with the parts of themselves that make up our personality. The goal is to bring empathy and understanding to these parts of ourselves to eventually bringing wholeness and sense of inner peace to ones life.

  • The current gold standard for treating PTSD. This therapy provides support to process traumatic memories and distressing life events in a way that is routed in safety. EMDR uses what we know about the makeup of the brain to inform and promote healing from within.
